It is located in eastern Serbia, on the periphery of the Kučaj Mountain and includes the catchment of the Zlotska River – the tributaries of the Black Timok. The sea level is 275-1158 meters.
Distance from Belgrade: about 230 km. Distance from Bor: 21 km.

Protected natural good of the first category – one of the most impressive elements of the Kucaja relief and one of the most important centers of biodiversity in the Balkans. Of the total area of the „Lazar’s canyon” nature monument, which is 1755.50 ha, 1018.50 ha is under the forests. Other areas are ridges, rocky fields, meadows and pastures.
The length is up to 9 kilometers and the height is between 300 and 500 meters. It is used in the limestone massif of the South Kucaj Mountain, and it flows through the same river. From all sides it is covered with rocky ridges: Malinik (1,087 m), from north Strnjak (720 m) and Kornjet (696 m), and from the west Pogar (883 m) and Mikulja (1,022 m) rises from the south and southeast. The cliffs of the canyon are vertical and flat, and the narrowest part of the canyon is less than 7 meters. It contains over 70 caves. Only some of them are discovered and accessible, known as the Zlotska cave (Lazar’s cave, Vernjikica, Hajdučica, Mandina cave, Dubašnička cave and others).

From the village of Zlot, you can easily walk to all interesting locations. The entrance to the canyon is about five kilometers from the village of Zlot

In the immediate vicinity of Lazar’s canyon is Lazar’s Cave, Brestovacka Spa is 14 km away, Bor Lake is 24 km and Crni vrh (mountain) 34 km

The area of Bor municipality is connected with a whole spectrum of traffic routes both with the Danube and the Corridor 10 and with the international crossings towards Romania and Bulgaria.
With the Djerdap highway, the area is connected with the regional roads: Bor-Donji Milanovac, Bor-Negotin-Kladovo and Bor-Požarevac-Smederevo. The network and quality of local roads in the municipality of Bor is at a satisfactory level.
Bor has an airport, which allows creating conditions for air traffic.
