
Recipe for: 4 persons
Ingredients: 1/2 kg fresh cucumbers, 500 g yogurt, 3-4 garlic cloves, green dill, salt
Method of Preparation: The cucumber is peeled from the bark, cut into cubes, salted and left to drip. Once they have dripped well, they are mixed with the yogurt, the smashed garlic and the chopped dill. The Geagik can be served as it is or alongside with other meat dishes.
Where to eat: almost all restaurants in Mehedinti county have this sauce in the menu.
Special tips: Gegik is one of the recipes remaining to inhabitants on the banks of the Danube from the Turkish people who lived on the Ada-Kaleh Island.
