Pumpkin in wine – “recelj” – Asociaţia Pro-Mehedinţi

Recipe for: 8-10 persons

Ingredients: six (6) liters of grape’s juice (sweet wine made from freshly crushed/pressed grapes)
and ½ white pumpkin.

Method of Preparation: Pour 6 liters of grape’s juice – freshly crushed, sweet, young wine in a larger earthen pot. Cook over low heat for about 60 minutes. Add peeled white pumpkin, cut into
bigger pieces and cook for the next two hours to the desired density.

Special tips: For larger number of people double the quantity of young wine and cook the whole
medium size pumpkin.
