Legend / Story / Impressions / Recommendations:
The elders believe that the name ”Bucura” was given to this village from a girl named Bucura. A convoy of slaves going to the Danube stopped on these lands. Their captain, in love with a girl named Bucura from this community, decides to stay with her in these places. She lures him for a walk through the surrounding forest and kills him by pulling his hanger from his waist and banging it straight in his chest. The girl returns to the prisoners and releases them. Among them there was a young man named Rujean, with whom the girl has been friends since childhood. Finally, these slaves’ fog is settled in these places and thus establishes a small village, named Bucura, after the name of their liberator. They preferred to remain here, rather than returning and risking being sacked again by the barbarians in their path. Young Rujean marries Bucura, becoming the master of the roads of these lands, and of the entire area covered with forests, taking the commitment to kill all the barbarians who would pass with prisoners through these places in order to release them. Since then the road has been named “Rujean’s Road” and the village of Bucura has been populated with the prisoners released by him.
