Name of the Touristic Attraction: Gura Văii – Vârciorova Natural Reservation

Location: in South-West part of Mehedinți County. The reservation is located i the vicinity of Gura Văii, Mehedinţi County, the Getic Plateau, on the left bank of the Danube, in Almăjul and Locvei Mountains.

Description: Created in 2000, the Gura Văii-Vârciorova Natural Reservation is a floristic and forest reservation. It is extended on an area of 305 hectares and it has the purpose to protect the forests with a diverse floral composition of many rare species. Among the most common species are the golden oak,”garnița”, the sour cherry tree and the Turkish hazelnut.
