The Danube Gorges refers to the section between the mouths of Plavisevița River (south) and Ogradena River (north), forming a well individualized geomorphological unit. Dubova Docks split Danube Gorges into The Small Gorge and The Large Gorge.

The Large and The Small Gorges are separated by a semicircular bay, Dubova Docks.

The Small Gorge of the Danube, 3,6 km long and 150-350 m wide, lies between Dubova Docks and Ogradena and consist of Ciucarul Mic Hill (313 m) and Stirbatul Mic Hill (626 m) located in Serbia.

The Danube Gorges area has a well represented karst topography, both by exokarstic forms (clints, sinkholes, uvale) and endokarstic forms (caves, potholes).
