Name of the Touristic Attraction: Blahniţa Protected Natural Area
Location: in Mehedinti County. The access is from the DN6 road on the route: Craiova – Filiaşi – Strehaia – Prunişor – Poroina – Şimian, the national road DN56A to Hinova.
Description: The natural area is located in the central-southern extremity of Mehedinţi County. Situated in the Danube Meadow, Blahniţa Protected Area extends along Burila Mare, Devesel, Gogoşu, Hinova, Jiana and Pătulele communes and is crossed by DN56C (connecting Salcia and Burila Mare) and DN56A (linking Calafat and Drobeta -Turnu Severin). Blahniţa area covers a surface of 43,711 hectares and is considered a wetland of international importance. It comprises two natural reservations: Bunget Forest and Stârmina Forest and is crossed by the river with the same name.
