Legend / Story / Impressions / Recommendations : At first, the church’s lodge was in a hut. It was a church with a peculiar bell tower, situated on a hill near the village of Pătulele. Later on, the church was burnt by the Turks, thus becoming among the locals the “The Burnt Church”. On the same place where once used to be located that church, in 1840 was built another church made of wooden beams, brought from Vlădaia forest, placed on four stone legs. For a while, this used to be the only church in Pătulele. In 1883, Prince Alexandru Ştirbei builds a new church in the commune; a church dedicated to St. George. In 1878, the wooden church „Saint Nicholas” is closed being considered improper for religious services, but in 1903, the parishioners managed to reopen it, raising it from the foundation, this time building it from concrete walls. It was sanctified two years later, on May 8th. It is the building that can be seen today in Pătulele Commune.
