“Sălașele”(houses outside the village) are forms of temporary housing outside the village, agro-pastoral households, isolated on farmlands and meadows lands, where people rear animals.
Usually are used for specific activities for area as rearing animals (goats, sheep, cows). Salasele are used especially during hay farming and harvesting and well-knowed for the Iron Gates region are: La Hambari, La Velicipoieni, La Scorus, La Sparturi, La Streniac, La Poiana din Mijloc, La Vucu (old Plavisevita), La Poieni, Pe Djeal, La Sbăg, Pe Ciucar (Dubova).
“Sălașele” could be seen from the Iron Gates ecotourism routes. Thus, on Cioaca Cremeneasca-Rudina ecotourism route are protected bicellular houses, a type of old house specific for the Iron Gates area.
Following Svinița-Tricule and Tarovăț ecotourism routes, we find lodges, also forms of temporary housing.
