Izgradjena je izmedju 1972. i 1976. pod nadzorom arhitekte Hansa Hakelmana a svestenik u to vreme je bio Johan Markoviti. Hram crkve je \u00abBezgre\u0161no Za\u010de\u0107e \u00bb i \u00ab Vozdvi\u017eenije \u010casnog Krsta \u00bb. Smatra se remek delo arhitekture 20.veka kao i jedinstvena ustanova grada jer je ona most koji povezuje nacionalne manjine grada Orsava (nemce, \u010dehe, madjarie). Bogolsu\u017eenje je na 4 jezika : nema\u010dki, \u010de\u0161ki, madjarski i rumunski.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Katedrala je jedinstvena u Evropi, njeni specifi\u010dni elementi su interijer u obliku \u0161atora a krov u obliku krsta, to je bogomolja za sve vernike Or\u0161ave, nemce, \u010dehe, madjare i rumune.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Izgradnja katoli\u010dke crkve je dosta zanimljiva kako po njenim non konformisti\u010dkim oblikom, kao i po periodu u kome je izgradjena (1972.-1976.). To je jedina katoli\u010dka crkva izgradjena u periodu komunsti\u010dkog re\u017eima.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Katedrala ima elektronske orgulje ali i stare mehani\u010dke orgulje, koje prate bogoslu\u017eenje ali se koriste i za izvodjenje raznih koncerta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Niz slika koje predstavljaju \u00ab Put Golgote \u00bb delo je likovnog umetnika Gabriel Popa, izvedene u modernom maniru. U katoli\u010dkoj katedrali iz Orsave su prikazani u verskim slikama : bolj\u0161evi\u010dki rukovodioc V.I.Lenin, gimnasti\u010darka Nadia Komane\u010d, biv\u0161i \u010dlan grupe Bitls D\u017eon Lenon, kao i rumunski glumci Florin Piersik i Ana Sele\u0161. Tako da se pored Pilata iz Ponta pojavljuje Lenjin koji nagovorava ljude da se pobune protiv Isusa Hrista. Po zamisli likovnog umetnika D\u017eon Lenon simbolizuje radost vaskrsenja Isusa Hrista. Njegove slike uradjene u modernom maniru su dovele do ostrih rasprava zato \u0161to je naslikao i savremene ljude.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Katoli\u010dka katedrala iz Orsave jedan je
