Ostrvo se nalazi nizvodno od hidroelektrane Gvozdenih kapija I, izme\u0111u Rumunije i Srbije, jugoisto\u010dno od Drobete Turnu-Severin, u blizini \u0160imske komune, vidljivo je iz DN6.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Legende \/ Pri\u010de \/ Impresije<\/strong> <strong>\/ Preporuke: <\/strong>Ostrvo ima povr\u0161inu od 55,50 hektara, a arheolo\u0161ka otkric\u0301a potvr\u0111uju \u010dinjenicu da je bila naseljena od srednjeg neolita. Tokom izgradnje Trajanovog mosta izme\u0111u 103 i 105, ostrvo je slu\u017eilo kao prirodna baza za brane za preusmeravanje vode. 1968. godine, prije nego \u0161to je sagra\u0111eno jezero &#8220;Gvozdena kapija&#8221;, niz objekata i ciljeva preba\u010den je na ostrvo \u0160iman na ostrvu Ada-Kaleh.
