Thematic Route: <\/strong>The Hiking Route<\/p>\n Name of the Touristic Attraction: <\/strong>“Stari\u0219te \u2013 Trescov\u0103\u021b” Trail<\/p>\n Location: <\/strong>in Mehedin\u021bi County. The access on the route is made from the national road DN 57, at 6 km from Svini\u0163a Commune, right from the tourist stop \u201cStari\u0219te\u201d towards Berzeasca.<\/p>\n Description: \u00a0<\/strong>The route starts from Stari\u015fte Valley, and along it, at short intervals of time (about half an hour), we meet belvedere points, places to admire: the Danube, Mala Cucuiova, The Small Trescov\u0103\u0163 and The Big Trescov\u0103\u0163. The belvedere points are at higher altitudes, culminating with Mount Trescov\u0103\u0163. It is the place where an impressive panorama of both Romanian and Serbian landscapes opens. With an altitude of 755 m, Mount Trescov\u0103\u0163 is one of the highest mountains of the Iron Gate Natural Park. The route passes through the forests of \u201ccer\u201d (Quercus cerris)<\/em>, \u201cg\u00e2rni\u0163a\u201d (Quercus frainetto)<\/em>, \u201cfag\u201d (Fagus sylvatica)<\/em> and meadows with grass covered with orchids and carnations. Near the base of Trescov\u0103\u0163, the route meets the waters of Cozari\u015fte Spring (its name comes from the Serbian word \u201ccoza\u201d, which means goat), well known by the locals. This route is represented by flora and fauna elements specific to Romania’s S-V part, which have developed in line with the climatic elements existing in this corner of the country (temperate continental climate with sub-Mediterranean influences). A special and unique floral element adorns Trescov\u0103\u021b Volcano Neck. It is known as the Banat Black Pine.
