Butoie\u015fti Commune can be reached from Drobeta Turnu Severin, on DN66 towards Filia\u015fi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Legend \/ Story \/ Impressions<\/strong> <strong>\/ Recommendations<\/strong>: The church was built in 1821 in the lower part of the village, in Pope\u015fti hamlet. All the elements that compose the area where the church is located (the wooden gate, the old wives who stand guard at the entrance, the old crosses) describe the local and regional sacral architecture. It was built at the initiative of Constantin Popescu, captain in the army of Tudor Vladimirescu.
