The entrance in to the cave is on the left bank of “Lazareva reka” river, at the altitude of 291 meters. First archeological data about the cave was discovered and presented by Felix Hofman in 1882 and by Jovan Cvijić seven years later. The total length of the explored canals is 1.721 meters. Stalactites and stalagmites, cave pillars, hangings and calcite puddles of every shape and size are all around, creating a beautiful and romantic ambient. In the vicinity of the cave there is a ten-room motel with a kitchen that is specific to the area and that prepares, among the food dishes, the trout that is grown in the farm. Only a kilometer and a half from the cave there is another speleological object, Vernjikica, said to be the greatest in Serbia. This cave is connected to Lazareva Cave by a sandy path covering the altitude distance of about 164. This cave is rich with stalactites and stalagmites of unusual shapes and colors. In the cave there are pillars of 20 meters tall while the height of one of the 11 rooms is over 51 meters. An organized guide’s service can take any tourist or group trough this magnificent speleological object providing expert information about the creation of these caves, characteristics and shape of these chambers.

The Lazar Cave is open to the public from May to October from 09:00 to 16:00.

Accessibility: Road from Bor to Lazar`s Cave about 20 km

Type of the trail – route,Cycling route, asphalt

Type of difficulty: easy

Guided / self guided route

Best time of the year for the route: from May to October.

Route name: Zlot caves – Starting point/nearby town Bor- Ending point/ location Zlot caves Duration: 2-5 hours In the area of the Zlot village 130 caves were explored with the total length of 7.842 meters.
